This Course looks at different ways African Americans fought back against Racism between 1800 – 1968. You’re understanding of Politics is directly related to you’re understanding of History. We’ll analyze U.S. History, primarily from the African American perspective, beginning in 1803 with the Louisiana Purchase, The Haitian Revolution, The Missouri Compromise of 1820, Special Field Order #15 (aka ’40 Acres and a Mule)’, the end of the Civil War and the 13th Amendment through 1968. We’ll look at The Reconstruction Era (1865-1877), The Red Summer of 1919, The Jim Crow Era, World War I, The Great Migration, World War II, The Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement to get a better understanding of how we got to where we are now and where do we go from here. Unfortunately, some of this history is repeating itself. America needs a massive History Lesson.
